When you trim the wick on your candle to 1/4 inch above the wax before every burn, you will promote a cleaner more even burn.

That means little to no soot, and a nice even flame. 🔥
Trimming the wick is also important to prevent “burring” when the untrimmed wick folds down on itself and pieces actually break off. Debris in the candle increases the risk of potential flare ups, and nobody wants that.
